City Harvest

Today we got to go see Pastor Edward at City Harvest Church. He told us his story on how he found his calling to preach the gospel and to start several programs. These include the Micro finance program,  the Kibera Transformation development program, and the VCT which is the HIV/AIDS clinic. It was great to see so much hope in a destitute place. We traveled to the South B slums to visit one of the Micro Financing programs- the City Harvest Beauty School. The girls there told us about their beauty program and then braided Leila, Katy, and Sophia’s hair. It was an act of God that DHL delivered the OLPC laptop chargers while we were meeting with Pastor Edward. We furthered discussed the 3 locations we are going to deploy the OLPC laptops at. They are KTDP which is in the Kibera slums, the school in the Pokot community, as well the Matunda school outside of Nairobi. This is amazing because most of these children have never seen a computer in their lives.
